How this pay compares in Thailand
This listing vs. the local range
฿25,000 / month sits below every range our Thailand guide publishes. The lowest is 30k to 45k THB per month for government schools.
Visa and paperwork
Three separate things are involved: a Non-Immigrant B visa, a work permit from Thailand's Ministry of Labour (applied for by your employer), and, for school teaching, permission or a licence from the Teachers' Council of Thailand. A bachelor's degree is the usual baseline for school roles.
How does the school year work?
Two main semesters: May to October and November to March. Hiring peaks in March/April and September/October.
