1. About ESL Careers

ESL Careers (esl.careers) is a job board and professional development platform for ESL teachers. By accessing or using our website, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

2. Accounts and Authentication

Account creation and authentication are handled through Clerk, a third-party identity provider. When you create an account, you agree to provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account.

3. User Content

You may submit content to the platform, including job postings, resumes, profile information, and course reviews. By posting content, you grant ESL Careers a non-exclusive, worldwide license to display and distribute that content on the platform.

You agree not to post content that:

  • Is false, misleading, or fraudulent
  • Infringes on intellectual property rights
  • Contains discriminatory or harassing language
  • Violates any applicable law or regulation

We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these terms or that we determine is harmful to the platform or its users.

4. Payments and Refunds

Payments for job posts, courses, and other paid services are processed through PayPal. By making a purchase, you agree to PayPal's terms of service in addition to ours. All prices are displayed in USD unless otherwise noted.

All sales are final. Every paid service on ESL Careers is a digital good or service that is delivered immediately upon successful payment. Job posts go live as soon as you submit the listing form. Course access is granted to your account on capture. Ad placements begin running on capture. Because delivery is immediate, all purchases are non-refundable.

By completing checkout you acknowledge and agree that (a) the service is delivered immediately and you receive the full benefit of the bargain on payment, (b) you have used or had the opportunity to use any free previews provided to evaluate the service before purchase, and (c) you waive any right of withdrawal, cancellation, or cooling-off period to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.

We will replace or credit the service in narrowly defined cases of service failure on our end (duplicate charges, confirmed technical delivery failures), as described in our Refund Policy. We do not refund cash for any reason outside those cases.

Chargebacks or disputes filed against legitimate purchases are a material breach of these terms. We dispute every such filing with complete transaction evidence. Accounts associated with dispute filings have all paid services revoked immediately and may be permanently banned from the platform.

5. Job Listings

ESL Careers acts as a platform connecting employers with ESL teachers. We do not guarantee the accuracy of job listings and are not a party to any employment agreements made through the platform. Employers are solely responsible for the content of their job postings and compliance with labor laws.

6. Email Communications

By subscribing to job alerts or newsletters, you consent to receiving emails from ESL Careers. Emails are sent using Resend, a third-party email delivery service. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email or by visiting your account settings.

7. Intellectual Property

All original content on esl.careers, including course materials, design elements, and branding, is owned by ESL Careers. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute our content without written permission. Purchased course materials are licensed for personal use only.

8. Limitation of Liability

ESL Careers is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform. This includes, but is not limited to, loss of data, loss of income, or damages resulting from reliance on job listing information.

Our total liability for any claim related to the platform is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Third-Party Services

ESL Careers relies on third-party services for core functionality, including Clerk (authentication), PayPal (payments), Resend (email), and Neon (database). We are not responsible for outages or issues caused by these providers. Your use of these services is also subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these terms. You may also delete your account at any time by contacting us at hello@esl.careers. Upon termination, your right to access paid content may be revoked.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the platform. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
