We are currently seeking a Native English-Speaking Teacher (Native English speaker from the UK, Canada, Ireland, and the US) for the Early Primary Years (Student age 6-11) at an International school in Bangkok, Thailand. Visa and paperwork

Non-Immigrant B visa converted to a work permit. Bachelor's required.

Can I start on a tourist visa and convert?

Technically yes but it's harder. Most schools and agencies prefer you arrive on a Non-B that you obtained outside Thailand. The cleanest path is to apply at a Thai consulate in Laos or Malaysia.
