EPIK Application Dates: Spring and Fall Intakes

EPIK hires for two terms a year to match the Korean school calendar. According to EPIK's how-to-apply page, which we read on 6 October 2026, Spring term positions start with a main intake in late February plus late intakes in March and April, and Fall term positions start with a main intake in late August plus late intakes in September and October. Applications for the Spring term open on 1 August of the previous year, and for the Fall term on 1 February of the same year.

What that means today

The date is 6 October 2026, so the Spring 2027 application window opened on 1 August 2026 and EPIK's homepage was showing "Spring 2027 Application Now Open". EPIK's own timeline says Spring applications run from August to January. It does not publish a closing date, and it also says placements are made only while spots remain, so applying earlier is better than later.

Dates that depend on the intake

Your criminal record check must be dated on or after a start date that depends on the intake you are placed in. For the Spring term that is 1 August for the main February intake, 1 September for the late March intake and 1 October for late April. See the documents checklist. Recommendation letters must be dated within two years of the date applications open, which for Spring 2027 is on or after 1 August 2024.

What to do if you are applying now

1. Read eligibility and check that you meet the TEFL rule. You can finish a course up to six weeks before arrival.

2. Choose how to apply: direct, an MOU/MOA organisation or a recruitment agency.

3. Order your national police check and degree apostille early, and read what EPIK will reject.

4. Know the pay: EPIK pay scale and allowances.

5. If you want something quicker than a government intake, look at private academies and other roles on our Korea page and the job board. A job alert or the iPhone app will tell you when new roles go up.
