Where to post an ESL job in 2026

Updated . Prices were read from each provider's own page that day.

Start with the free option in your market: Ajarn.com in Thailand, O-Hayo Sensei in Japan, ESLbase worldwide, and local teacher groups on Facebook. If those do not fill the role, paid posts we could price start at US$20 and reach £160 or more. Dave's ESL Cafe, TheWorknPlay and Teach Away do not publish a job post price.

ESL Careers sells job posts, so we have an interest in this comparison. It is included below on the same terms as the others.

By market

Thailand
Ajarn.com's free Bronze ad and the Thailand teacher groups on Facebook come first, because both are free. Hiring guide
Japan
O-Hayo Sensei is free, or US$20 if you want to write the listing yourself. Hiring guide
South Korea
Dave's ESL Cafe has a dedicated Korean board and TheWorknPlay focuses on Korea. Neither shows a price before login or contact. Hiring guide
Vietnam
We found no Vietnam-specific board with a published price, so the worldwide boards in the table apply. Local Facebook groups cost nothing to try. Hiring guide
Several countries, or online roles
Worldwide boards fit better here: ESLbase, TEFL.com (its two cheapest packages exclude online roles), ESL Employment, or ESL Careers.

Where ESL Careers fits

It is not the cheapest route, because free options exist. A post costs $29 or $59 for 30 days, and applications go to your email.

Recent paid listings received a median of 8 applications, based on 6 listings. That is a small sample and not a promise. If a listing gets no applicants in 30 days, you can request a full refund.

It suits a school that wants a fixed price and a refund, or is hiring outside the markets the free boards cover. If a free channel already fills your roles, keep using it. Teacher database access is a separate purchase and does not come with a post.

Questions schools ask

Where can I post an ESL job for free?
Facebook teacher groups, where the group's rules allow it. Ajarn.com has a free Bronze ad for teaching jobs in Thailand. ESLbase has a free one-line advert every 6 weeks. O-Hayo Sensei lists jobs in Japan for free. ESL Employment advertises free posts. LinkedIn allows one free post at a time, and Indeed lets you start free.
How much does it cost to post an ESL job?
It ranges from free to £160 or more for a 4-week package, on the prices we could read. O-Hayo Sensei charges US$20 for a paid listing, ESLbase £50 for 6 weeks, TEFL.com starts at £43 (US$57) for 4 weeks, and Ajarn.com paid ads start at ฿1,930 before VAT. ESL Careers charges $29 or $59 for 30 days. Dave's ESL Cafe, TheWorknPlay and Teach Away do not publish a job post price.
Where should I post a teaching job in Thailand?
Start with the free Bronze ad on Ajarn.com if the role qualifies, and the Thailand teacher groups on Facebook. Both cost nothing. Paid boards make most sense if those do not fill the role.
Where should I post a teaching job in Korea?
Dave's ESL Cafe runs a dedicated Korean job board and TheWorknPlay is Korea-focused. Neither publishes a job post price, so check at their checkout. We have no reliable data on Naver cafes or KakaoTalk groups.
Where should I post a teaching job in Japan?
O-Hayo Sensei lists jobs for free or US$20. We could not read GaijinPot Jobs' prices, so it is not in this comparison.
How many applications will I get on ESL Careers?
Recent paid listings received a median of 8 applications, based on 6 listings. That is a small sample and not a promise. Results depend on the role, location and salary.
Does an ESL Careers job post include the teacher database?
No. A job post is a listing and applications by email. Teacher database access is sold separately, from $99 for 30 days.
What happens if nobody applies?
On ESL Careers, if a paid listing gets zero applicants within 30 days of going live, you can request a full refund. The conditions are on the refunds page.

What we could not check

We did not create accounts, so prices behind a login are missing rather than guessed. GaijinPot Jobs blocked our reader and KruTeacher publishes no rate, so neither is priced here. We found no reliable local boards for Indonesia, Cambodia, Malaysia, the UAE or Saudi Arabia. If a detail here is wrong, tell us and we will correct it.
