Teach English in Da Nang, Vietnam
Coastal city with a growing ESL market and beach lifestyle.
Da Nang's market is much smaller than the two big cities and expanding steadily rather than quickly. Pay is lower, the lifestyle is the draw, and the honest framing is that you come here for the beach, the clean air and a twenty minute commute, not to save money. The number of centres is small enough that the market can feel full for months and then open up, so timing matters more than it does in Saigon. Hoi An is thirty minutes south and adds a few more schools.

Neighborhoods
My Khe and the beach strip for the reason most people move here, at a premium. Hai Chau for the city centre, the centres themselves and the cheapest central rent. Son Tra for quiet and views across the bay. An Thuong for the compact expat pocket between the beach and the river.
Cost of living
Roughly 6 to 12 million VND a month for a one-bedroom, and living near the beach costs meaningfully more than living ten minutes inland. Typhoon season runs autumn and is a genuine planning factor.
Best for
Teachers who put lifestyle ahead of job density and are willing to wait for the right opening rather than pick from a long list.
Vietnam at a glance
Salary: Language centers: 1,400 to 2,200 USD per month. International schools: 2,500 to 4,500 USD. Pay is hourly for most center jobs, in the 18 to 25 USD per hour range. Cost of living is low enough that most teachers save 600 to 1,000 USD per month.
Visa: Work permit and temporary residence card. Requires bachelor's, 120-hour TEFL, criminal record check, and a health check. Native speaker preference but non-native teachers with a bachelor's in English or education are increasingly hired.
