Teach English in Bogotá, Colombia
Colombia's capital with the largest corporate English market.
Bogotá concentrates Colombia's business English contracts and university hiring. Chapinero and Usaquén are the most popular expat neighborhoods. Elevation (2,640m) is the main adjustment.
Neighborhoods
Chapinero for the teacher and student centre of the city. Usaquén for quiet, north and a little pricier. Teusaquillo for universities and central rent. La Candelaria for the historic core, cheap and lively rather than comfortable.
Cost of living
Roughly 1.5 to 3.5 million COP a month for a one-bedroom. Bogotá sits at 2,600 metres, so expect a week or two of altitude adjustment and a cool, grey climate that surprises people expecting the tropics.
